🔅 Schema Therapy is a form of psychotherapy developed by Jeffrey Young in the 1990s. It integrates elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychoanalysis, attachment-based therapy, Gestalt therapy, and Emotion-Focused Therapy. The approach focuses on "schemas"—deeply ingrained patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving that often originate in childhood and significantly influence a person's later life. Some of these schemas are negative, leading to problems with relationships, mood, and self-esteem.
